Is the estimate really free?
Yes — free and no-obligation on every job. If you want a price on a defined project like a panel upgrade, EV charger, or rewiring, we come look at it and quote it at no charge. That's separate from a service call, where we're actually diagnosing or fixing something on the spot.
What's the difference between an estimate and a service call?
An estimate is us pricing work you're considering — that's free. A service call is us doing work: tracking down a dead circuit, chasing a breaker that keeps tripping, making a repair. Service calls are $250 for the first hour, then $125/hr. An emergency service call is $399 for the first hour, same-day guaranteed.
How much does a panel upgrade cost?
It depends on the service size you need, where the panel sits, the condition of the existing service, and what your utility and town require. Any electrician quoting you a firm number over the phone hasn't seen enough to be right. We look at it in person and quote it free, before any work starts.
Do I need a permit — and do you handle it?
Most panel, service, and rewiring work does require a permit. We pull permits and schedule the inspections ourselves on every job that needs one. You don't chase the town; we do.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — NJ Electrical Contractor License #9741, and we carry insurance. Happy to provide the license and a certificate of insurance on request.
How fast can you get out here?
Most calls get answered the same day. If it's a true emergency, the $399 emergency service call is a guaranteed same-day visit. A standard service call is scheduled based on availability rather than guaranteed same-day — so if it's urgent, say so when you call.
Do you work weekends or after hours?
Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday 8:00 AM to noon. The emergency line is open 24/7 — if you've lost power, something is sparking or smells like it's burning, or a critical circuit is down, call regardless of the hour.
Can you install an EV charger at my house?
Yes — Level 2 home charging, on its own properly sized circuit and breaker. If your panel doesn't have the room or capacity for it, we'll tell you that up front and price the panel work separately, rather than finding out halfway through the install.
What towns do you cover?
We're based in Union and work across Northern and Central New Jersey — Union, Springfield, Maplewood, Hillside, Elizabeth, Roselle Park, Kenilworth, Newark, Millburn, Cranford, Westfield, Summit, Linden, and well beyond. If you're not sure you're in range, just ask — chances are we cover you.
How do I pay?
We take credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, bank transfer, cash, check, Venmo, and PayPal. You can pay a service call upfront through the links on this page to lock in your slot, or settle up when we arrive. Larger quoted projects are invoiced separately.
Can I pay for a bigger job over time?
Yes — larger jobs can be financed through Affirm right on your invoice, so you can spread the cost into monthly payments instead of paying it all at once. Approval and terms are set by Affirm, not by us. Tell us you’re interested when we quote the job and we’ll set the invoice up with the option enabled.
